Edgar's Calypso

The food of the Caribbean is as varied as the people who settled it. French, English, Cuban, Mexican, Jamaican, the list goes on and the influences scan the globe from India and China to the Netherlands and Ireland. At Edgar's Calypso we hope to provide a taste of those cultures touched by the sea and the sun, then deep frozen here in Wisconsin.The food is our own take on the stuff we've had in places all over the islands. Mostly it's Caribbean home cooking, nothing fancy. Just good, fresh food cooked as authentically as we can cook it in Milwaukee. The recipes are ours and to the best of our ability everything is home made from the sauces to the soups (OK, we buy Jamaican watermelon relish for the tartar sauce but you just gotta for it to taste right).
